He was Ivo Pitanguy’s direct assistant, being responsible for the Hair Restoration Sector of the famous Pitanguy Clinic.
In 2001, he created Centro Pilos, a pioneer in Rio de Janeiro in modern hair transplant surgery, because he believed that this surgical specialty deserved a clinic totally dedicated to the subject. Dr. Henrique has been performing, since then, the art and technique of follicular unit transplantation, either by the traditional method (skin spindle removal or FUT), or by the extraction of follicular units (FUE: follicular unit excision).

As the son of a diplomat, he did his primary and secondary education in several countries. He speaks fluent English, French and Spanish.
His university studies took place in Rio Grande do Sul, where he graduated as a doctor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Santa Maria [1982-1987]. Since then, he has been developing his own methodology in hair transplantation in both aesthetic and repairing cases. In 1997 he presented an unpublished work (“Use of Hair Transplantation in the Correction of Scarring Alopecia”), ascending to the rank of Titular Member of the SBCP.

Out of personal interest, in 1998 he took the MBA – Health course at COPPEAD, a prestigious management institute at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
In the years 2013 and 2014, he was the president of the Association of Former Students of Prof. Ivo Pitanguy, leading the group of alumni of one of the most important schools of plastic surgery in the world, promoting workshops and planning meetings of this select group of plastic surgeons.
